I am a visual storyteller, journalist, filmmaker, and facilitator. My work is informed by a strong respect for the insight of human experience. I believe that process is just as important as the final product. As such, I look to tell stories with, and not about communities. Through story, I look to foster connection and understanding across boundaries of "otherness."
Insights that inspire my work:
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”   – Arundhati Roy
“Many over the centuries were heard and loved, and their words disappeared in the air as soon as they were spoken but took root in minds, contributed to the culture, like something composting into rich earth; new things grew from those words. Many others were silenced, excluded, ignored. The earth is seventh-tenths water, but the ratio of silence to voice is far greater.”    - Rebecca Solnit
I reside in Portland, OR with my partner and dog.
